This blog is new. I haven’t used this blog before. Totally pissed. I don’t know where this blog is going. I really don’t used windows live. However I plan to real soon.
I posted the little rant on another blog. I always thought it funny so I am posting it here too. I might be addicted to smilies. I really like them. Read this.
I read a lot, all types of books romance, mystery, science fiction/fantasy, graphic novels ( very elaborate comic books) and erotica(literary porn). In my search to be a better writer they all serve a purpose besides being entertaining. I have a habit of wanting to write in every genre that interest me. My favorite books are omnisceint or third person view, however I got introduced to Laurell K. Hamilton Anita Blake series. She writes vampire novels with really graphic sex. She started to publish in the ’90’s and has been on the New York Times bestsellers’ list by word of mouth. Not only does she get fanfiction, she also gets fan art. Ms. Hamilton books may even rival Anne Rice if they haven’t already. I am not trying to pit two very excellent writers against each other. I just stating that they probably have the same audience, with the exception that Ms. Hamilton’s vampire have sex and Ms. Rice’s vampire sex act is taking blood. Now I can be wrong since I have only read up to Pandora in Ms. Rice vampire series. My point is that like my title, is explicit sex in a scrary horror book better that implied sex and beautiful words. I love to write and perfect sentence or paragraph can have me on mental high for days. I mean I look back on it and read it over and over again just to get the feel of that inspiration and perfection. I have listened to interviews by both Ms. Hamilton and Ms. Rice and I know they probably have a similar experience. They are just getting millions or thousands for their work. I am a little envious. Enough about that back to the point, vampires and sex have gone hand in hand for generations. Books that border on literary porn or are literary porn have become very popular, these days. Although the really good ones have excellent writers, so that it is just not the sex that will intrigues me. I have nothing else to say about this subject so bye.
I couldn’t believe it when it happened. It was so strange that I had to write about it. Sometimes when I can’t get inspiration, I listen to author interviews on the internet. The site is called “Eye On Books with Bill Thompson”. I have heard him on the radio WNYC and NPR interviewing all kinds of people. It helps me when I doubt becoming a published writer. I believed it was a good thing.
Until, I clicked on the interview for Stephanie Meyer. Who is she? Let me explain. Stephanie Meyer has written three books beginning with Twilight, New Moon and now Eclipse. They are highly recommended by almost everyone I have asked on the internet. It took me weeks to attain a copy from the library. I was interested. However I wanted to start reading the series from book one and I was unable to get it in time. The book is based on a teenager Bella, who has a vampire boyfriend and werewolf best friend, both are guys and their groups don’t get along. The books were so good; they knocked Harry Potter books down a peg on the best seller list.
Bill Thompson interviewed her and she wrote her 3 books and got on the best seller’s list in four years. AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I couldn’t believe how angry I got when I heard that. I was so jealous I didn’t know where it came from. I have been writing since I was fourteen years old. I am always told that my stories are worth reading. But I am not published and I know it is my fault and I can’t blame anyone else except I just couldn’t listen to that Meyer’s interview. I could not stomach it. I found someone else but I had to work out my feelings. I just had too. My goal is to write a blog or journal entry a day. On one of my many blog sites – Friendster – http://www.friendster.com/profiles/jcthewriter; Myspace – http://www.myspace.com/jofabulous11212 and windows live Joleo112; Where this will be posted of course. I feel better that my moment of woe was typed out. There should be a smiley here.
I know I tried to do alot of crossover and I hope someone is reading these but the likelihood is depressingly low. I got to go delete some more.
